Yoga Under the Oak

If you live in the Lake Area:

Join me for Yoga Under the Oak at the Imperial Calcasieu Museum (located at 204 W. Sallier Street) from 9-10(30 ish) am on scheduled Saturdays of the month.

This practice is free of cost to all community members. You can find more information about the museum, their events, and exhibitions here.

About the class:

All levels are welcome.

This is a yin yoga practice focused primarily on conscious breathing in postures intended to relax the body, engage the mind, and release. Please bring your own mat or a light blanket or towel instead, or really go barefoot and dig your toes into the ground during our practice! Please attempt to arrive at least 10 minutes before class is scheduled to begin and join us quietly if you’re running behind. Complimentary coffee and tea are often available before and after our practice. After practice, we invite you to tour the museum and visit the exhibition currently on display.

About my personal yoga journey:

I found yoga while I was living in Colorado over decade ago. Over the years, my practice has saved me in many ways. In the summer of 2017, I traveled to India to deepen my personal practice and study Hatha yogic philosophy, asana (body posture), pranayama (breathing technique), and meditation. While living at an ashram, I earned a 200-hour certification with Yoga Alliance. Since then, I have been given opportunities to share this fundamental life practice, and I am continually grateful to offer our time Under the Oak as a means of connection to nature, oneself, and our community.

HOPE TO SEE YOU ON YOUR MAT!

Yoga Under the Oak upcoming dates:

June 4th and 11th

July 2nd, 16th, and 30th
